Planning Meeting

Open Meeting to guide the development and path of the Opera Club. Your opportunity to shape the path of the Opera Club. We are open to all suggestions:

Succession Planning

Whereas I'm not ready to step back from the Opera Club, it's always good policy to have a succession plan.

Is there someone among us (or in our community) to take the reins of the club? Skill set:

  • Love of opera and ballet (Got to have)
  • HTML/CSS/PHP coding skills (Nice to have)
  • Moderate abilities on theatre display tech (Nice to have)
  • Access to a library of Opera and Ballet DVDs (Got to have)
  • Poster design (graphic design skills) (Nice to have)
  • Pre-opera lecture content creation - i.e., video editing skills (Nice to have)
  • YouTube Premium subscription - $14.95/mo (Nice to have)

Style

Do we need a style coordinator? Do we need to revise our style?

Seating Policy

For HOA sponsored events in the Lodge Theatre seats are strictly first-come, first-serve. Seat saving is strictly prohibited.

However, as a private club, the Opera Club has been granted the right to have reserved seating. In an effort to extract myself from being the seating police, I created a self-reservation feature on the website.

Do we need/require reserved seating?

Genres

We currently offer opera and ballet. Next month I will relinquish Broadway/West End musical theatre to Barbara. She will schedule events separately from the Opera Club.

Within opera and ballet are there sub-genres that we have ignored or over represented?

Programming

For the most part I have selected the events presented. I have been open to member suggestions and have scheduled every title suggested by members.

Please suggest titles to present.
